WHO WE ARE
CLAP MEXICO (formerly BAP) is a pioneer theatre company committed to creating outstanding EDUCATIONAL INTERACTIVE THEATER in ESL.
For the last 32 years, we have performed for hundreds of thousands of Mexican students from more than 40 cities all around the country (plus quite a few from Costa Rica, and Guatemala)
Each year, we offer three different flexible, AFFORDABLE, interactive, and highly entertaining (borderline ridiculously funny) mini-plays to be staged at your own school to easily bridge the gap between real-world English and classroom language, awakening the students' curiosity, motivation, and interest.
OUR DIRECTOR
Vanina Waxman is a highly trained educator (Cambridge DELTA with distinction, Halfway through her Master’s in English Teaching and Educational Management- College Teacher: Teaching Young Learners) who never stops learning in order to provide disruptive tools for English Teachers.
OUR TEAM
All of our actors are extremely experienced professionals with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Arts and ESL teaching qualifications (TKT, Celta)
They are also trained in IMPROV, clown and rehearsal room approach for ESL teaching
Theatre in education (TIE) originated in Britain in 1965 and has continued improving and adapting up to the present day.
In 2021, it was included as mandatory in the British Curriculum for its effect on developing students’ cognitive skills.
TIE typically includes a very small theatre company (3 to 5 max) performing in an educational setting (i.e., a school) , including interactive and performative moments.
It MUST be farcical and would often include multi-roll, anachronisms and narration.
The idea of a high-impact, child-centred performance for a specifically targeted school audience became hugely popular in ESL due to the magnificent results in reducing the affective filter that makes language learning so difficult for certain students.
Student experimentation can be supported through work in-role and with resource materials.

HOW IT WORKS
1- Pick a date
Check our calendars or contact our sales team and, after confirming with your school, formally book a whole morning (or two) with us.
You will receive a confirmation letter and the optional workbooks via e-mail.
2- work on the details with our team
You can plan the schedules with our team closer to the date.
We will help you choose the best venue (ideally an MPR, but even a playground or the cafeteria would do)
3- Enjoy
We arrive one hour before the first performance on the date to get our mini set and audio ready.
And that’s it!
As many performances as you need!
4- Pay after the show
You can pay in cash, check or bank transfer (some options require an invoice with 16% VAT added)
NOTE: We keep our team tiny and our prices small so that you COULD add a profit margin ...
Let’s visit the TOY WORKSHOP!
Let’s meet Ted, the crocheted Teddy Bear; Dolly, the broken Wind-Up Doll; and Pepe, the crazy Pop-Up Puppet. They can’t wait to be fixed!
But Robbie, the Robot, is coming to the workshop today. He is angry because his lights wont work anymore and he is convinced that no one will ever like him again!
TOYS
SPOOK
Grumpy old chef Filippo comes from a family that’s worked at Canterville Castle for generations—his great-grandfather even served Sir Simon of Canterville! Today, a new housekeeper, Francesco, and the new heir, Lady Victoria, are arriving. But spooky sounds and ghostly sights might scare them away... Will she be brave enough to stay? Will we uncover the mystery and unmask the “spook’?
MMBETH
A laugh-out-loud updated parody of one of Shakespeare’s darkest tragedies with a moral to learn. Inspired by the original story and keeping some authentic dialogues and the actual plot, the play is filled with up-to-date references (from TikTok to anime), plenty of student interactions and endless hilarious situations.
